Saint Jo ISD Education Foundation Awards Three Teacher Grants
On May 21, 2024, the Saint Jo ISD Education Foundation Board of Directors surprised three teachers with a check for grants they applied for. The board awarded $8,897 in grants.

Saint Jo ISD Education Foundation Awards Scholarships
The Saint Jo ISD Education Foundation awarded several scholarships to Saint Jo High School Graduating Seniors on May 23, 2024. A total of $4,750 in scholarships were awarded. Graduates must complete an application to be considered for a scholarship. The Foundation has awarded the following.
The Dr. Ed and Carolyn Spencer Endowed Scholarship in the amount of $1,500 to Kyler Dunn. The Home M. (Pete) Preston Scholarship in the amount of $1,500 to Paola Sanchez. The Gloria Phillips Scholarship in the amount of $1,000 to Presley Deweese. A scholarship in the amount of $750 to Caleb Hennessey.
The Saint Jo ISD Educational Foundation was initiated in the summer of 2015 and is a Texas-registered non-profit corporation with IRS tax-exempt 501c3 status.
The purpose of the Foundation is to provide scholarships for Saint Jo ISD graduates, provide tuition for dual credit courses for high school students and to fund teacher grants and higher education workshops. Saint Jo ISD Education Foundation Fundraiser
The Saint Jo ISD Education Foundation held its annual fundraiser, “Growing our Future”, on Thursday, March 21, 2024. The dinner with a live and silent auction was held at Blue Ostrich Winery & Vineyard.
Leeton Phillips, Saint Jo ISD School Board President and Ex Officio Foundation Board Director, welcomed everyone and thanked them for attending. Leeton talked about the foundation and gave an update on the financial impact it had provided to students and teachers. Those attending enjoyed bidding on silent and live auction items and a money jar card game. The winery served a delicious 3 course meal accompanied by their award-winning wine.
